πŸ“ East Asia (cultivated)

A vining plant that climbs and trails, adding height and movement to a tall glass jar or cube. It is a strong choice for a display with room to grow upward.

Creeping fig needs regular trimming to keep its shape within the container. It does well at 50 to 85 percent humidity, so it suits closed or vented builds. Give it a stone or branch to climb, and lay the vines along the surface before pressing the substrate in. Trim it as it grows so it stays within the jar.

  • Vining habit that climbs and trails
  • Best in tall jars and cubes
  • Humidity: 50-85%
  • Needs regular trimming to stay in shape

Questions & answers
Q: Which jar is best for a creeping fig? β€” Anita
A: Tall jars and cubes suit it best, such as the 30 cm hinged-lid cube. The 15 cm jar gives it less room to climb.
Q: How often should I trim it? β€” Hari
A: Trim as needed to keep the vine in shape. Creeping fig needs regular trimming, so check it often.
