Watering and misting without guesswork

4 min read

Closed terrariums

You rarely water. Look at the glass: fog in the morning is perfect; water streaming all day means vent it; no fog and dry soil means a light mist.

Open terrariums

Mist when the surface of the soil is dry to the touch, usually every two to four days. Water at the base rather than over the leaves for succulents.

Water quality

Rainwater or distilled water is best. Tap water is fine for most plants, but carnivorous plants need rain or distilled water only.

Use the schedule

My Terrariums builds a care schedule for your type of enclosure, and adjusts it for animals and upkeep level.
