Lighting a terrarium

4 min read

Windows

Direct sun heats glass like a magnifier and can cook a sealed jar. Choose a bright spot out of direct sun, or filter it through a curtain.

Grow lights

A small full-spectrum LED on a timer for 10 to 12 hours a day suits most tropical plants. Place it a hand or two above the plants.
